Situated just 2 miles north of historic Hilo Town, Hale Kai Hawaii Suites features four individual oceanfront rooms that showcase spectacular vistas of the blue Pacific Ocean as well as Hilo Bay. From our pool and oceanfront lanai, revel in some of the finest views available in Hilo, along with a peaceful atmosphere overlooking the popular Honolii surfing beach.

The Heritage Room is equipped with a comfortable queen bed and a private bathroom featuring a shower. For your convenience, amenities include WiFi, SMART TV, small fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, hot water pot, toaster, dishes, and utensils. You will also find ceiling and portable fans to ensure comfort throughout your stay, although there is no air conditioning. A sliding door leads directly to the lanai, enhancing your connection to nature. Each day, we provide continental breakfast items, and all guests are welcome to take a refreshing dip in the pool or relax on the oceanfront lanai.

Please note that one parking spot is allocated per room in this tranquil residential neighborhood. All guest rooms face the ocean and are located on the lower level of the property, accessible by over 30 steps (as shown in our photos). Guests are responsible for transporting their luggage to their accommodations. Bookings are limited to two guests per room, ages 13 and older. We maintain quiet hours from 9 PM to 8 AM to ensure a comfortable environment for everyone—Mahalo!

Summary: The location of the room is amazing as it directly faces the ocean and they provide wholesome breakfast which is a nice touch! But there are some logistical issues with the property: 1. the 4 car parking space is the most uncomfortable lot I have ever encountered. It’s like someone drew the parking lot on a paper and forgot to take into consideration the ground reality. 2. The room doesn’t have any AC which could become an issue during hotter days. 3. There are a lot (a lot) of stairs to get to the rooms, so not accessible friendly at all! 4. If you’re staying in one of the farther rooms, there is no WiFi signal in those rooms, despite the property claiming it offers WiFi. 5. This property is part of larger Rentals and the only form of communication is via text but you never know with whom you’re chatting. They’re pretty responsive but it just felt weird! Overall the staff is friendly, service is good but wouldn’t really recommend staying here if you have other options.
