Summary: Crater Rim Cabin is an amazing and special place to stay. It's a unique cabin, incredibly clean and cozy, and Jim and Barry are the most thoughtful hosts. The grounds are gorgeous and you can't beat the 5-minute drive to Volcanoes National Park. Our every need was anticipated, from fresh drinking water to an extra fan for the bathroom (it's a wood cabin in a rainforest, after all!) and heated blankets on the large, comfortable bed. We loved the array of guidebooks, maps, and the DVD on the last 40 years of Kīlauea's activity.
