Maintaining high cleanliness standards, I work with one of the best cleaners in the building, who ensures everything is spotless six to seven days a week. Additionally, the community benefits from round-the-clock security staff, providing peace of mind for families traveling with children or older guests.

I affectionately call this place Hale Honu Kai, which translates to Home of the Sea Turtles, acknowledging the distance traveled by guests to experience the beauty of this destination. Like a sea turtle's home, it is compact yet well-equipped for longer stays. Located just near the two western bridges leading into Waikiki, you are only blocks away from the Hawaii Convention Center and the sprawling Ala Moana shopping center.

Your beach days are fully covered! You’ll find a beach wagon stocked with gear—pop-up sun shelters, beach chairs, towels, coolers, boogie boards, snorkel masks, sand toys, and even coloring books for the kids. Plus, enjoy a selection of books to browse through during your stay.

World-famous Waikiki Beach offers the perfect environment to unwind and connect with fellow travelers from around the globe. With gentle waves ideal for surfing lessons, you'll love the inviting atmosphere where everyone is relaxed and enjoying their vacation. Just remember, please keep the boogie boards away from the North Shore during winter months!

I have carefully equipped Hale Honu Kai with everything you might need for a memorable experience, whether your visit is short or long. The studio features a comfortable Queen bed, a twin size futon foldaway, and a twin air bed, allowing it to accommodate up to four guests if needed. Enjoy amenities such as a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, rice cooker, AC, Smart TV with Netflix and Roku, and reliable WiFi. Though the WiFi is reported as high-speed, tech enthusiasts may find it slightly slower than desired; however, there's a convenient workspace perfect for laptop use with views of the majestic Ko'olau mountain range.

Although the studio is modest in size at 247 square feet and the building dates back to 1979, its affordability makes it an excellent choice without sacrificing value. When you arrive, you will be captivated by the unobstructed, panoramic view!

For grocery needs, a full-size store is easily accessible with the beach wagon, eliminating the necessity for a car during your stay. Foodland at Ala Moana Shopping Center is a favorite, resembling Whole Foods but boasting better prices. Times Supermarket and Zippy's, a beloved Hawaiian fast-food option known for its acclaimed chili, are also nearby. Other shops like Target, Walmart, Ross, and Don Quijote can be reached with a leisurely 20-minute stroll.

If you're traveling with young ones, consider visiting the Honolulu Zoo at the opposite end of Waikiki. You can enjoy a fun-filled day exploring the zoo and even take turns pushing little travelers in the beach wagon along the way. To accommodate families, I provide sand toys, puzzles, coloring supplies, and a Pack and Play for infants.

The building itself features a popular breakfast and lunch spot, Creme Pot, where locals eagerly line up each weekend. You can expect delicious cuisine inspired by French, Japanese, and Vietnamese flavors, all prepared by a passionate husband-and-wife team. Be sure to bring cash as they don't accept cards, and there's an ATM with a service fee located in the lobby.

If you prefer something quicker, head to Maleko Bakery on the first floor, open from early morning until noon, serving excellent coffee and fresh pastries daily. The owner often works behind the counter himself, ensuring quality and flavor in every bite.

Food trucks across the street provide delightful options with a variety of cuisines, including vegan choices - a local favorite sought after by many.

Hale Honu Kai comes with essential cookware: pots, pans, dishes, and cooking implements, alongside a two-burner hotplate and cast-iron frying pan for even heat cooking. You'll find basic pantry items such as salt, pepper, cooking oils, and more available for your convenience.
