Summary: The grounds and the view are great, the cabin has been partially restored. It was a very rustic kitchen set-up, but we made it work. Only real problem were ants. They could find a single grain of sugar anywhere.We named the rooster that hangs around there Hei-Hei. We also had the gecko brothers who kept sneaking into kitchen.The pond has toads in it and they sing at night, counted 6 one night. The water lily bloomed while we were there.The temp on the water heater needs to be turned up a little, it is just above warm.Feeding the chickens every morning was fun, they got to know me when I come walking up they all come running.Made it down to the stream and waterfalls a couple of times, absolutely beautiful. The hike down it not for the inexperience hiker, loose and steep, but worth it if you are able to do it. Cold water.Papaaloa store is a great place to stop in, they have a little of everything. They have a cafe and Fri. and Sat. nights they have live music.5:30-7:30, great food and nice people.I would definitely stay here again, would like to see this cabin after it is fully renovated.
