This lovingly kept property has been in our family for generations, and it is our joy to open Aunty Lydia's homestead to guests traveling from every corner of the globe. With a standard and maximum occupancy of six, this welcoming abode is ready to host your Hawaiian getaway.

Aunty Lydia's Ohana features three bedrooms and one and a half baths, complete with a convenient carport. Inside, you will discover captivating photos showcasing the history of this beloved Hanalei family home. Enjoy a very short stroll to the beach, as well as easy access to the best beaches along the North Shore.

Positioned just off Kuhio Highway, you will observe the vibrant daily life of surfers and locals while being only three blocks from the lively center of "downtown" Hanalei. The outdoor space includes a wonderful carport area equipped with a charcoal BBQ, perfect for al fresco dining while soaking up stunning mountain and waterfall views.

This laid-back Hawaiian-style home allows you to unwind just moments away from the heart of Hanalei Bay and offers exceptional value among Hanalei Beach Houses. Relax in the grassy yard that embraces the home on three sides, surrounded by lush tropical plants.

The kitchen is fully functional and adorned with charming stenciled designs, making it an ideal space for whipping up fresh meals with produce from local farmers' markets and fish sourced straight from the sea. A convenient pass-through connects the kitchen to the living room, enhancing the flow of the space.

Outside, you will find a wash house complete with a washer and dryer, along with an additional toilet and a hot & cold shower situated in the yard for your convenience.

This comfortable dwelling accommodates up to six guests, featuring a king-sized bed in the master bedroom at the rear, a queen in the front bedroom, and two twin beds in the third bedroom. Each bedroom is equipped with air conditioning to keep you cool during warm Hawaiian nights.

Hanalei is renowned for its breathtaking mountains, which can dramatically change throughout the day—sometimes shrouded in mist, other times revealed in vivid detail, often punctuated by stunning waterfalls. Aunty Lydia's home provides ample opportunities to marvel at these natural wonders from both the living room windows and the carport/lanai.

Many guests utilize the spacious front yard as a social hub, with plenty of parking available. An outdoor dining set allows for enjoyable meals beneath the stars, creating memories to last a lifetime.

Upon establishing this home as a vacation rental, we were thrilled when some of Aunty Lydia's mainland family came to visit and enjoyed staying in their beloved relative's house.

While situated on Kuhio Highway—where the speed limit is a tranquil 25 miles per hour—a beautiful hedge of tropical foliage creates a serene separation from the road. The entrance to the yard and parking area is located at the front of the house.

Just a minute’s walk away is Wai'oli Beach Park, a picturesque strip of parkland nestled between bayfront homes and sandy shores. Here, you will find BBQ grills, picnic tables, shade trees, restrooms, and often volleyball games happening. This spot serves as a fantastic gateway to the bay, placing you just moments from Aunty Lydia's.

Upon returning from your beach adventures, rinse off with the convenient outdoor hot & cold shower or enjoy a refreshing cleanse under the stars.

Please note that the State of Hawaii requires a rental agreement, which comes with distinct cancellation policies compared to VRBO. Also, be aware that this accommodation is located within a tsunami evacuation zone; evacuation instructions will be provided in the house, and details regarding the zone will be included in your rental contract. Additionally, electric vehicle charging is not available at this property.
