Private Beach Front Property: Your Perfect Getaway in Waimea, Hawaii
Welcome to your dream retreat at this exquisite private beach front property, nestled in the idyllic surroundings of Waimea, Hawaii. This family-style beachfront home, completed in January 2018, is your ultimate escape where you can relish in the beauty of nature and tranquility.
The journey began in 1998 when we purchased this expansive lot, which served as a cherished family campground for nearly two decades. Now transformed into a stunning residence, it offers everything you need for an unforgettable vacation. You will find meticulously maintained landscaping, mature coconut and Milo trees (native hardwood), royal palms, and fragrant plumeria enhancing the scenery.
Your stay here means direct access to a sandy beach, unlike many properties in Puako. Enjoy deeper waters ideal for swimming, surfing, snorkeling, or kayaking. For families, there's a delightful "keiki pool," a protected tidal pool perfect for wading and playtime. With sand and ocean right at your doorstep, your beachfront experience is unparalleled.
Although all waterfront land in Hawaii below the highest wash of the waves is technically public property, the seclusion of our little beach ensures you will often encounter more turtles than people. The challenging public access trails guarantee a peaceful stretch of shoreline, where solitude reigns, and the occasional fisherman may pass by without intruding on your privacy.
Perched eight feet above ground level, the house provides breathtaking views of the ocean and across the channel towards Mt. Haleakalā on Maui. You'll also appreciate the magnificent sights of the Big Island’s four major mountains: Kohala, Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Hualalai. Beneath the house, an inviting shaded space with lush lawns invites relaxation, complemented by amenities like a Kitchen Aid propane BBQ, a small drink refrigerator, picnic table, ping pong table, and lounge chairs.
The interior boasts exquisite custom wood detailing, featuring natural wood floors crafted from locally sourced coconut trees and rich African Sapele wood baseboards. All cabinetry, window, and door trims are made from local woods including Milo, Koa, and Eucalyptus sourced from our property in Holualoa.
Conveniently, the Puako General Store is just half a mile away, while Mauna Lani and Hapuna Beach Resorts are within a short drive, bike ride, or walk. Inside, the decor reflects island style with thoughtful wood accents and furnishings, ensuring comfort for 2 to 4 guests. The arrangement includes a spacious master bedroom with a King size mattress, a smaller second bedroom, and a den that can convert into a third bedroom, each fitted with queen-size mattresses.
Both bathrooms feature shower doors leading directly to the deck, allowing a seamless transition from beach fun to warm showers. An outdoor hot water shower is conveniently located on the north side of the house.
This fully equipped property offers a modern kitchen complete with molded sinks, Corian countertops, stove, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, and a large toaster oven. Additionally, there’s a centrally located washer and dryer, TV, and WiFi access for your convenience. Note that while there is no landline, cell phone service is reliable.
With the recent cessation of volcanic activity in the Puna area, clear skies have returned, providing stunning morning views of Hawaii’s majestic peaks: Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea, Hualalai, as well as Haleakala on Maui, and the beautiful Kohala Mountain.
