Inside this cozy abode, you will find a newly designed kitchen and bathroom adorned with tropical decor complemented by classic koa wood, mahogany, and bamboo furnishings. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a well-stocked kitchen, one full bath, and an additional outdoor shower perfect for rinsing off after a day at the beach. With two bedrooms furnished with queen beds and generous closet space, you’ll feel right at home. Being fully solar-powered means you can enjoy alternative energy solutions, albeit with certain limitations. As the property is off-grid, you may experience limited cell service (2 bars) and no WiFi, enabling you to appreciate the unspoiled beauty and calming sounds of nature. For water needs, we utilize rain catchment; however, we recommend using bottled water or the complimentary water available from roadside taps in nearby Pahoa for cooking and drinking purposes. Full-grid services are conveniently located just minutes away.

With unobstructed ocean views right outside your door, you'll be tempted to spend your entire vacation mesmerized by the rolling waves. Yet, our cottage also makes for the perfect starting point to explore the unique landscapes and rich culture of the Big Island. The Puna District offers an array of attractions, from scenic parks to serene coves. Just three miles away lies the stunning Kehena Black Sand Beach, while MacKenzie State Park is only two miles in the opposite direction, featuring steep lava cliffs bordering a dramatic shoreline.

The largest town on the Big Island, Hilo, boasts a quaint Old Town filled with historic architecture, boutique shops, diverse dining options, and attractions such as Rainbow Falls, Banyan Drive, Lili'uokalani Gardens, and the famous “singing bridge” over the Wailuku River.
