Welcome to The SWEET SPOT STAY-ENCHANTED GROTTO HOUSE, a one-of-a-kind accommodation nestled in the Kehena Beach area on the southeastern coast of Big Island, Hawaii. This breathtaking property spans over 1.5 acres and showcases an extraordinary landscape featuring grottos, terraces, and impressive lava formations adorned with giant trees reminiscent of Jurassic Park. Over 16 years were dedicated to combining three interconnected lots, resulting in this extraordinary paradise that many visitors mistake for a park upon arrival.

The house is enveloped by a lush green canopy, providing a serene grotto atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer a mesmerizing view of the vibrant, tropical scenery outside. Inside, you will find warm knotty pine walls, elegant tile and wood flooring, complemented by an antique Persian carpet gracing the sunken living room. Every window frames a picturesque view of the flourishing greenery and vivid colors that epitomize a Hawaiian paradise.

Since 1991, I have cultivated a diverse collection of exotic plants and fruit-bearing trees on the grounds for your enjoyment. Depending on the season, you can find cacao pods, limes, grapefruits, avocados, bananas, coconuts, mangoes, and papayas. For culinary enthusiasts, herbs such as rosemary, thyme, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves are also readily available.

As you explore the property, you'll find yourself standing among the treetops, where a narrow trail leads deeper into the enchanting grotto, revealing a different ecosystem under the sprawling branches of a Monkey Pod tree. An outdoor shower beside a magnificent mango tree offers a truly unique experience, and a newly installed private flush toilet boasts stunning views of the lush ravine and towering monkeypod tree.

Our friendly feline resident, Meow Meow, helps keep the property free from rodents and enjoys the company of our guests while living outdoors.

This off-the-grid cottage operates entirely on solar power, with gas appliances for cooking. At night, allow the soothing sounds of Coqui frogs to lull you into a peaceful slumber, and wake up to the gentle cooing of Morning Doves.

The Kehena Beach community is pedestrian-friendly, making it a pleasure to walk around, with fewer cars on the road. Just minutes away lies the stunning coastline and the clothing-optional Kehena Black Sand Beach, renowned for its dolphin sightings and occasional whale visitors during winter months. The local scene is vibrant, filled with charm and character.

Every Wednesday evening, indulge in the lively atmosphere of Uncle Robert's Open Air live music event in nearby Kalapana, just four miles down the road. Experience the spirit of Aloha through music, dancing, and socializing. On Saturdays, enjoy a delightful farmer's market at the same location.

For those seeking scenic drives, the "Red Road" promises breathtaking views as it weaves along the coastline, surrounded by verdant vegetation that creates natural tunnels.
