Summary: Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 9 gathered from around the country for some holiday cheer. Not being familiar with the island of Oahu I was happy to find lodgings that would fit all 9 of us comfortably (albeit one adult child got the fold-out couch). The house was in a vey nice gated community with 24 hour guard presence close to the Makaha Valley cliffs. It was in very good shape inside and out (other than some water line maintenance going on during the stay in the backyard while we were out and about). It had everything we needed and surprisingly even had snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. for beach excursions.The local golf course and clubhouse is under renovations by the new owners but it was fun to play and the restaurant there had good food and great staff.The downside was the general location of the property. The West side of the island is overrun with homeless encampments all along the beaches once you pass Ko'Olina and head north towards Makaha. I was stunned to see the beaches lined with village after village of homeless encampments.Our first beach day the adult children were anxious to surf so after renting a surf board we went to the nearest beach. Beach parking was not available so we parked across the street in the Longs Drugs lot. The security guard approached us and warned us to keep an eye on our cars and that even though he's doing rounds, he cannot guarantee to keep them safe. We ended up moving to a different beach that had a security guard in the parking lot.Not much to do on the West side of the island. We spent a lot of time driving to other parts of the island for activities and restaurants.If you are looking for a homebase and don't mind driving for every adventure, this is a great place. While I really like the house, I would not come back due to the surrounding area.
