These outages are part of the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) strategy implemented across the island to mitigate wildfire risks during certain conditions. Expect these measures to remain effective on the islands of Maui, Oahu, and Hawaii for the foreseeable future, with potential outages lasting up to one to three days.
