These outages are part of the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) strategy initiated across the island to help mitigate wildfire risks under specific conditions. This precautionary measure is expected to remain in effect across Maui, Oahu, and other Hawaiian Islands moving forward. Outages can occur at any time and may last from one to three days.
