Summary: We had a lovely month in Lanikai, staying at Noni’s artistically furnished garden suite. We could watch the sun rise from our bed , walk to either Lanikai or Kailua Beach (hence avoiding the traffic and parking challenges particularly in Lanikai ), and enjoy being in a peaceful residential neighbourhood with friendly neighbours .. We were concerned the kitchenette might be a challenge for a month’s stay , at a time of covid when we preferred not to frequent restaurants but found even in the small space , we could still , with some planning , prepare three course meals. Noni was very generous , adding a rice cooker and toaster oven to our kitchen . Noni is a wonderful host , very welcoming yet respectful of our privacy , and plays a wicked game of scrabble too The location on top of a hill has an outstanding view, and although you do share the deck space (and washer and dryer), really not a problem .
