Summary: This may sound better The apartment was clean and had a comfortable king-size bed. The kitchen was well equipped, and there was a stackable washer and dryer available outside. The host was friendly and easy to communicate with, and the price for the stay was very reasonable. Lanikai Beach is also just a short drive away, although street parking at the beach can be very limited.One thing I wish I had known before booking is that the host lives on the property. You can hear footsteps from upstairs, and when they walk around, some ceiling spackle occasionally falls into the kitchen sink. Also, because this is Hawaii, it’s to be expected that geckos and the occasional centipede will make their way inside.The biggest challenge was the extremely steep driveway leading to the apartment. It made carrying luggage, groceries, or other items difficult, and it can feel especially unsafe when it’s raining. The host also occasionally uses the garage located directly in front of the apartment, so there is some activity in that area.There is a nice patio with a barbecue and outdoor seating, along with a spot to remove your shoes, as guests are asked to leave shoes outside.Overall, this is a clean, reasonably priced place with a responsive host and a convenient location. It would be an even better stay if there were stairs or vehicle access directly to the apartment, as the steep driveway was the main drawback.
