Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The complete and absolute contrast between the week we spent at the Marriott Maui Resort, with its morning whiff of chlorinated pools and happy chatter of kids playing when I opened the balcony doors and the calm, mild whiff of charred wood that still surrounds the shores. I moved less than 10 miles, from opulence to a community of but one operational building in a sea of urban destruction. A community still trying to recover from devastating natural fires. A community where I felt at home.

Negative: The fact that we had only one bright and clear day in two weeks.

Summary: Every time I discovered we had forgotten something, I found something already there and available.
