Positive: The resort is like a peaceful little sanctuary that is tucked away from Princeville. The grounds are beautiful and the private beach access is the perfect way to start or end your day watching the sun set over the water and sea turtles popping their heads up to say hi. Our room had a great balcony with stunning views over the water which was the nicest treat.
Negative: We only arrived at the resort very late on the first day, and checkout was a strict 10am with no opportunity for a later checkout. In addition to a pricey room rate, we were charged a daily resort fee and a parking fee. Upon checkout, we asked if we were ok to use the beach for an hour or so before needing to depart for the airport. We were told that in order to do that we would be charged an additional resort fee and parking fee for the day. We tried to reason with the resort reception given that whilst we had paid these fees for our first day (but were not able to make use of anything due to the late arrival), surely 1-2 hours on the morning of checkout would not cause any harm, but no such luck. This was a really disappointing end to what was otherwise a really beautiful stay for us. In addition to this, there is some kind of machine/generator in the bathroom that would turn on infrequently throughout our stay, even through the night when we were sleeping. It was very noisy and disruptive and again, not something I would have expected for the amount of money we paid for our two night stay - hopefully that can be fixed for other future guests.
