Summary: We had booked a 3 bedroom VRBO way in advance for my husband and adult daughter and son. We wanted to stay togerther in one unit. 3 days before we were traveling from the states to Hawaii, we were informed by the host that "the owner was being difficult" and we were not allowed to stay in the unit we booked! They wanted us to cram into a 2 bedroom villa which meant one of the adults would have to sleep on a pull out couch! NOT acceptable. After much discussion, the best they were able to do was one 2 bedroom villa and one 1 bedroom villa which were NOT by each other! When we got to the resort they couldn't even find our reservation! IT was a mess! The resort ending up helping us NOT the host and NOT VRBO!!!! (We had numerous phone calls to VRBO in the 3 days leading up to our trip and they NEVER satisfied us!) To my knowledge no action has been take against the owner which is NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! I have rented countless VRBO's in the past 15 years and feel we were treated very poorly! We are filing a legal complaint against the owner.
