Additionally, the Hawai'i County Department of Parks and Recreation has closed La'aloa Beach Park as well as the southern end of Magic Sands Beach Park for construction improvements. Both projects are expected to conclude in approximately 7-8 months, though the beach remains open for enjoyment, monitored by Water Safety Officers from the Hawai'i Fire Department.
