Summary: This was a return visit to the the Lodge at Kukuiula and we have also sent several families over the years. We have always enjoyed Kukuiula but after this stay in Cottage #3, we will not be back and were extremely unhappy with our stay. Here is why…-When we were checked in, we were given the keys and the person who showed us the unit, stayed less than a minute and said since we had stayed before, there was no reason to talk about the resort, amenities or restaurants. -In the bedroom closest to the backyard:oThe wooden bed looked horrible (see photo) and was missing pieces. oThe door in the water closet would not stay closed. oThe light did not work in one of the closets (photo)oThe fan did not work in the bathroom (photo) – We asked for a service call but the person who came was unable to repair it. oThe air conditioning in both bedrooms would not cool down. – We asked for a service call but like the bathroom fan, the person who came was unable to repair it. Several of us slept on top of the covers. -The electronics in the cottage are embarrassingly old. oThe audio wall units pre date the first Iphones and had 30 pin dock connections that have not existed for 15 years. oThe TV’s were were so old that they do not have the mainstream technology airplay, play Netflix/Prime Video or even connect to modern day HDMI cords. -Over the course of 3 days in the resort pool, we collected a dental floss pick, an orange rind, a comb, plastic utensils and plastic cups
