Welcome to Paradise! From our direct oceanfront top floor condo, you can enjoy the close-up sights and sounds of the ocean all day long, as the waves come rolling in right in front of you and crash on the black rocks. From our private lanai (outdoor porch), you will enjoy the gorgeous sunsets, all with an unobstructed view of the ocean. You will have a front row seat to view the magnificent shoreline of beautiful Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii directly from your penthouse condo. We are excited to share our little piece of paradise with you!
This modern, completely private top floor condo is one of the premier units in the highly desirable Kona Reef Resort. The top floor offers extra quiet and security, not to mention unmatched up close ocean views. This condo is not just in an oceanfront complex. Rather, this particular condo is a proper Oceanfront Condo, and you won’t be disappointed with your rental. The only real oceanfront condos at Kona Reef Resort are located in buildings A and D. Any other condos at Kona Reef are just ocean view units, but not ocean front units!
Our beautiful and updated condo provides you with a comfortable KING bed with a memory foam mattress, quiet, dual zone air conditioning throughout the living room and bedroom, and ceiling fans in the living room, outdoor lanai, and bedroom. In the living room, a new high-end sofa bed pulls out into a very comfortable queen bed, and thanks to the latest technology there is no uncomfortable bar under your back!
The bathroom features a walk-in shower. Cable television is offered in both the living room and in the bedroom. You are also able to connect your streaming services on both SMART TVs. There is also a DVD player and an iPhone-compatible sound system. The fully stocked kitchen features high-end cabinetry, granite counters, and is outfitted with modern appliances: a full stove/oven, a large refrigerator, a dishwasher, a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, blender, and plates, glasses, cups, and utensils, etc.
We have a new washer and dryer inside the condo that are available for your convenience at no extra charge. We provide high speed internet with Wi-Fi. There is a small office desk area should you need to have a place to work.
Kona Reef has a heated pool, a jacuzzi, and a barbecue area for your use. This area of the resort is a great place to gather and make new friends over sunsets and dinner! On your private outdoor lanai (outdoor balcony), you can watch the palm trees sway softly as the gorgeous teal and blue colored waves rush onto the shore right in front of you. Look for dolphins, turtles, manta rays, and if you’re lucky, even whales frolicking right in front of you! Enjoy watching the surfers and boogie boarders right from your penthouse lanai. There is a little beach (Honl's Beach) at the corner of the resort grounds - an easy 2-minute walk from the condo, which features a small cove where there is some nice snorkeling.
* Please note that while there is an elevator to get to the top floor, there is an additional short flight of stairs to climb - a total of 9 steps.
Please note that the big island has a strict NO SMOKING rule, and there cannot be any smoking anywhere on the grounds of Kona Reef Resort, in the units, or on the private lanais.
For those guests who wish to spend a day at the beach, we provide a supply of essentials for your use: beach towels, a beach umbrella, beach mats, boogie boards, snorkeling sets (including masks, fins, and snorkels), and a large rolling cooler.
A parking pass is available for the duration of your stay and will be left for you in the condo. There is ample free parking, including rooftop parking, street level outdoor parking, and two levels of underground parking in the garage.
It is a 5-minute walk to Kona town, where there are plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, the local farmers market, and Kailua Pier. Some of the best beaches on the island are just a few minutes’ drive away.
The island lives up to its name: The Big Island, as there are many things to see and do, from white sand to black sand, and even green sand beaches where the honu (sea turtles) come onto shore, to coffee plantations and of course the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. For sports lovers, there are all varieties of activities: surfing, canoeing, the annual Ironman World Championships, the annual Queen Lili’uokalani Canoe Races, the world’s largest long distance canoe race. Summary: We spent 6 wonderful nights in Kona at this lovely, well appointed, oceanfront condo. It’s peaceful and within walking distance of Much of Kona town. I used the pool a few days with the key provided and the water was comfortable and clean. The AC in the living room and bedroom works great. The host kindly provided a starter package of coffee and some chocolate covered macadamias. The best feature is the view from the lanai. We enjoyed spectacular sunsets and morning ocean views before heading out to explore the island. There’s a great reference notebook of things to do and recommended restaurants. We especially enjoyed our seafood dinners at Merriman’s in Waimea (splurge and 1 hour drive each way), Umeke’s and Jackie Rey’s, the last 2 a short drive from the condo. Snorkeling at Two Step Beach south of the condo was great! We even saw a Monk Seal resting on the sea floor. The host are caretaker were very responsive and saw to our needs. Highly recommend!
