Welcome to the enchanting “Pu'u O Hoku,” aptly named the “Hill of Stars.” Nestled within over 14,000 acres of protected land on the tranquil east end of Molokai, Hawaii, this idyllic retreat is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes of lush forests, vast skies, and the shimmering ocean.

This family-owned sustainable ranch and organic farm has dedicated nearly 35 years to preserving the natural resources of Molokai through innovative ecological farming methods while safeguarding wild habitats. At Pu'u O Hoku Ranch, you will find a vibrant community committed to supporting Hawaiian culture and reintroducing native plants and wildlife into their environment.

The lodge itself, constructed in 1935 by the renowned architect C.W. Dickey, stands as a remarkable example of Hawaii's architectural golden age. It boasts a spacious main room, measuring approximately 1,350 sq ft, adorned with authentic Balinese and Hawaiian wood furnishings, rough-hewn beams, and a lava-rock fireplace. You'll also discover cozy sitting areas and a library for your reading pleasure. The property includes a certified commercial kitchen and an expansive shaded lanai of around 800 sq ft for outdoor dining and relaxation. A large yoga deck in front of the lodge presents stunning lawn and ocean views, while a refreshing pool awaits just behind the building. The surrounding gardens were thoughtfully redesigned in 2013 by Leland Miyano, showcasing an array of native plant species.

Your stay grants you exclusive access to this 12-bedroom lodge, accommodating up to 30 guests, ideal for hosting retreats, seminars, workshops, family gatherings, or intimate weddings. Enhance your experience with a private chef providing seasonal, farm-to-table meals inspired by local flavors, available at an additional fee of $195 per person per day.

If your group is smaller, you'll be pleased to know that the main wing (bedrooms 1-5) can cater to up to 14 guests. For those planning larger gatherings exceeding 30 people, the Sunrise Cottage is also available—feel free to reach out for more information.

Summary: We had a dreamy stay at Pu'u O Hoku Ranch! We really enjoyed slowing down and enjoying each other's company in a beautiful setting. Coming from the hustle and bustle of Oahu, it was exactly what we were looking for. We spent countless hours hanging out by the lodge pool and soaking up the old Hawai'i vibe. The convenience of farm-to-table meals prepared by the ranch team was ideal. The local venison, beef, and veggies were delicious. Our kids loved having breakfast together then heading out to their bee tour, farm tour, hike, or horseback ride. They learned so much about the place and their environmental efforts. The staff was so kind and knowledgeable. It was impressive to see everything they are working on. Moloka'i is such a unique and sacred place, we will be back. Mahalo Pu'u O Hoku!
