Your journey begins with an impressive display of seven life-sized tiki statues that symbolize the game of chess, purposely positioned along a fence crafted from 100% recycled pallets. As you step into the outdoor foyer, you'll be greeted by four additional tiki statues, each hand-carved and one-of-a-kind. Follow the natural lava rock path known as "The Horse Shoe," where on your right, you'll discover our rare collection of over 300 Hapuu ferns and various tropical plants, while to your left, another set of four towering tiki statues awaits, ranging from 6 to 20 feet tall.
The walk leads you to The Okina guesthouse, a remarkable structure constructed entirely from recycled materials. Inside, the cozy space spans approximately 100 square feet and is adorned with original mixed media artwork, featuring a comfortable futon-style bed. Enjoy the open hallways that flow into your private lanai, offering stunning views of the lush surroundings. The uniquely designed jungle bathroom features totem poles, all meticulously hand-carved, blending seamlessly with the natural beauty around you.
Your off-grid experience is enhanced by mini solar bricks that provide power for charging devices, while battery-operated lights illuminate your stay. Here, non-potable water is naturally filtered through lava rock, delivered daily from our "Water House." To maintain sustainability, we have a composting toilet that will eventually contribute to our tropical gardens.
