Summary: The room itself was lovely, but the facility was run almost like a prison. Security is tight, and very strict rules including no playing in the pool. No jumping in or "horseplay" of any kind. While Makaha Valley is absolutely beautiful, and so are the beaches, we were quite discouraged from going to almost any of the local beaches due to the VERY high homeless population on them. And unfortunately the drive time to get anywhere else was extensive due to traffic on the one roadway going to and from the area.
